Copper Creek Villas Review and Tour
Wilderness Lodge has been on my bucket list of places to stay on property at Disney since it was built. Thanks to being a Disney Vacation Club member, we were able to finally make it happen. The wait was worth it. I hope our review and tour of Copper Creek Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge gives you more insight on whether you would like to stay here too!
Copper Creek Villas are part of the Disney Vacation Club area in the main resort building, on the east end.
Copper Creek Villas Room Tour

The rooms are decorated and designed with a pioneer, modern industrial feel. Our villa was a one bedroom, with a pullout couch in the living area for the girls.

Spacious enough kitchen, with a pretty large table, and bench seating on one side. We like to take food to make at least a couple meals in the room. It’s convenient and saves us a little money on food.

Bathroom area had shower, sink, and toilet in one room, then tub and sink in the other. This is helpful when a family of four is getting ready. One of my favorite touches is the glass window between the tub room and bedroom. It is stunning. especially at night when in the bathroom light is on.

Our room had two balconies, which overlooked the Cooper Creek Springs Pool, Bay Lake, Copper Creek Falls, Fire Rock Geyser and also faced toward Magic Kingdom. We could not see the park, but could see some of the higher fireworks at night.
Resort Tour

We enjoyed walking the resort, and grounds. In the Boulder Ridge DVC building, there was a sitting room with games. Jojo likes all the different sitting areas. She wants to come here to do her school work, (we homeschool). There are lots of rocking chairs and fireplaces, for that cozy mountain feel.

The grand fireplace in the main resort lobby is amazing. The beautiful slate stone in multiple colors is welcoming to guests entering.
Grounds Tour Outside of Copper Creek Villas

The Cascade Cabins are along the waterfront, which you can see in our video. We walked the boardwalk, and these cabins are now on my bucket list. The kids got a kick out of all the tadpoles in the water.

We spent our afternoons at the Boulder Ridge Cove pool. Both days we had one of the covered areas with couches and chairs. Perfect for relaxing by the pool with our speaker playing music.

Geyser Point Bar & Grill offers poolside service of food & drinks. We had the Shrimp on a Wire, and the Bison Cheeseburger. The bison burger was so good, we shared it both days. My favorite adult drink was the Banana Cabana.
Transportation From Copper Creek Villas

Depending on which parks and resorts you visit, there are a couple different transportation options. You can get to Magic Kingdom, or Contemporary via boat. All other parks are via bus. You can get creative, and mix up with a boat to Magic Kingdom, then the monorail to several resorts, or to Epcot. You can also take boat to Magic Kingdom, then head over to the bus area for access to any other resort. We really like being able to take the boats. This time we got to see the water parade while waiting for a boat back from Contemporary Resort.
Dining

Roaring Fork is a quick service food option, and we had snacks two of the nights. The girls enjoyed a S’mores Donut and the Campfire Cupcake.
Whispering Canyon Cafe is a fun place to eat. We had breakfast one morning. Western fare and antics aplenty, is how they describe it. Three of us had the All-You-Care-to-Enjoy Breakfast Skillet, and Anna chose the Banana Bread French Toast. Just don’t forget to ask for the ketchup. LOL!!! You can see what happens in our video!!
There are several more dining options, but this is what we experienced during our visit. Of all the resorts we have stayed in, this is my second favorite, and I would love to stay here again.

In addition, it’s no surprise Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has earned the ACE Project of Excellence Award from the American Resort Development Association for its design, operations and more!

As much as we visit, and travel to Disney, we still use a travel agent when not using our Disney Vacation Club membership. It costs us nothing, but saves us time and hassle. You can get free quotes from our agent, Amy, HERE.

Wow this looks great! I love all the pictures, it looks amazing!
Thank you!!! It’s hard to choose which pictures to share when there are so many great things to take pictures of.
Thanks for the review! This looked like a great place to stay. I’ll be in Orlando next year and I’d consider staying here. DO you need to be a Disney Vacation Club Member?
No, you do not need to be a DVC Member to stay here. If you decide to stay there, let us know you thoughts.
Julie,
What a beautiful location and villa! In all of our journeys, we have never been to Disney World! I know, I know! We need to change that.
I love that you shared the villa, the grounds, and what you did each day. That pool and the Banana Cabana are calling my name!
Thanks for an excellent, and informative, post!
You do need to change that! Happy to share why we love it so much, and why others will too.
When we go to Disney, I would love to stay on site, but we use our Marriott rewards and stay as close as possible. Your post makes me want to stay on site so much… Thanks for the peek in the fringe benefits of being a Disney member.
Hotel reward points are such a great travel perk. We have also stayed off site many times, but there’s definitely something more Magical being on site.
Great post and pics!
Thank you so much!!
