Toy Story Land: Our Thoughts

As you step into Toy Story Land, be ready to step back in time, and reminisce your childhood, because you walk among your toys.

There is no better way to be greeted, than by Woody!! He is right there speaking messages to all visitors as they enter through the one entrance available right now.

Photo opportunity with the sign is available, as is the meet & greet with Buzz.

Tinker Toys encompass all of the area. As you walk in, you see the beginning half of Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster ride, with Jessie and Rex atop blocks and Jenga, holding Christmas lights.

Across from Slinky Dog Dash is the new entrance to Toy Story Mania, and the Woody/Jessie character meet & greet.

Green Army Men walk around for photo opportunities, and they also have a Team Work drum performance which happens several times throughout the day.

Disney creativity does not disappoint.

Bench made from large popsicle sticks

Popsicle sticks and dominos make benches.

Large Cootie game pieces

Babybel snack cheese packages make up seats at Woody’s Lunch Box, and even a Cootie bug body.

Large Fisher Price camper merchandise kiosk

A Fisher Price camper is a souvenir cart.

Blocks and Scrabble pieces to make up the restroom sign.

Woody's Lunchbox food station

Books and game boxes are part of the landscape.

Large foot print on ground in Hollywood Studios

Walking through, there are larger than life sneaker foot prints.

Alien Swirling Saucers

I have to be honest, I did not have high hopes for this ride. But I must say, it’s a lot more fun than it looks. We were belly roll laughing. You swirl through the three spinning circles on the ground, when your cart hooks into another spinning circle as you pass by. Then you swing around, and riders in the same car are pushed against each other. We had fun trying to find one another in other cars.

Slinky Dog Dash

Love it!! The rider que is super cute with Andy’s drawing of your journey through Slinky Dog Dash.

You accelerate out of the gate, not anywhere near as quick as Aerosmith, but you head right up and around Jessie and Rex. After finishing the first half of the coaster, you actually stop, and get “shot out” again, up and down a hill, then over elevated small hills. When you come to the end, you are greeted by Wheezy, who sings to you. I think this was my favorite part. It’s the little details that make up the experience.

Woody’s Lunchbox in Toy Story Land

Josephine wanted to try the “Totchos,” so we did. I would have loved to try to BBQ Brisket Melt, but we just weren’t hungry enough to even share it. It looked delicious. We did also try the Raspberry and the Chocolate-Hazelnut Lunch Box Tart.

The “Totchos” are potato barrels (tater tots), topped with chili and cheese. This was a hit.

The lunch box tarts are like homemade pop tarts filled with either raspberry or chocolate-hazelnut. Raspberry is coated with strawberry fondant and crispy pearls. The chocolate-hazelnut has maple fondant and candied bacon. YUM!!

Several weeks later we headed back to try out the S’mores French Toast.

For an adult, you are stepping back in time. I suppose it’s the same for teenagers, with some of the toys. It’s meant to bring us back, and remember life as a child. Just enjoy, and take it all in. We sure did. We look forward to heading back when we get some relief from Florida summer heat.

If you have visited, we would love to hear about it on Instagram!!

As much as we visit, and travel to Disney, we still use a travel agent when not using our Disney Vacation Club membership. It costs us nothing, but saves us time and hassle. You can get free quotes from our agent, Amy, HERE.

Oh my gosh, I love it all! I am in California, and our Bugs Land recently closed. Toy Story Land features the same scale and beloved popsicle stick benches. I can’t wait to see it in person!

I love the scale too. Just like the “Honey I Shrunk the Kids” area they used to have. Now there’s an idea! A Toy Story area like that. I would love it!!
