Papa Pineapples Lands In Leesburg
Papa Pineapples in Leesburg has now closed.
Back in July, I was scrolling Facebook. You never know what will come across your newsfeed with the ever-changing algorithms of Facebook, but to my surprise, was a post by Papa Pineapples announcing they had keys to open a brick and mortar restaurant.
Why was this so exciting to me? I started following Papa Pineapples on Facebook after having their Pineapple-Cilantro Pork Tacos about 2.5 years ago. I was hoping to see them nearby in the future. That didn’t happen, so a restaurant opening was the great news!

Over the past couple months, I’ve followed along as they remodeled their location in Leesburg.

It really turned out great inside. I love the colors, and island theme. There’s plenty of indoor seating, and even a couple tables outdoors.
Soft Opening

Over Labor Day Weekend, Papa Pineapples had their big Soft Opening! We were happy to be invited as guests for the event. Anna and I attended, along with our friends Michele and Dave from Visit Central Florida’s Best, and Pete from ASK Cleaning! Michele had previously been out to talk with owner Scott, on the history of Papa Pineapples, and you can find her interview HERE.
Food
The Hawaiian based menu, chosen after Scott spent 5 years in Hawaii, centers around BBQ, pineapples, and tacos. What’s not to love?

Add to that, freshly made taco shells, right before your eyes.

You may even catch Scott helping keep the work flow going smoothly.

As much as I love their Pineapple-Cilantro Pork Tacos, I promised myself I would try something new. I went with the Papa Bowl, so I got to create my own. Chile chicken, Hawaiian coleslaw, cilantro, and avocado creama, over white rice. The chicken had a little bit of kick, which I like, and it was pretty filling.

As you may know, I do like my brews, so another perk is Papa Pineapples has a beer and wine permit. Hop Life Brewing in Port St Lucie brews the pineapple blonde ale they have on tap. Cheers!

Anna ended up having the Pineapple-Cilantro Pork Tacos, so I got my fix with a couple bites. She also had a side of black beans. Next time she wants to have the Moco Loco.

Everything looked so yummy, including the Korean Tacos, Hawaiian Mac Salad, and the Chile-Lime Chicken Tacos our friends ordered.
Opening

Lucky for you, the wait is over. Papa Pineapples is officially opening Friday, September 6th. You can find them on the corner of 4th and Main, right in Downtown Leesburg. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram to stay in the know about the new restaurant, and also their food trucks!!

Aloha!! Let us know if you plan to visit? Or are you already a Papa Pineapples fan?

Looks delicious
Trying new to us restaurants is something that we enjoy, especially while on vacation. There is a place in Asheville, North Carolina, that I spotted a while back and would like to try one day. It is not a good truck turned restaurant, yet it is a coffee shop on a bus.
That sounds like a place I would like to visit too!!
Looks amazing! I will definitely be checking this out next time we are in the area. Thanks for sharing.
