What is the Sunshine Blogger Award?
The Sunshine Blogger Award is recognition of new bloggers who are bringing positivity and creative content to the community of blogging! Nominees are chosen by fellow bloggers, so it’s quite an honor to be nominated.
Thank you to Jen, from Traveling Party of Four, for nominating me!
Jen is a fellow Florida blogger, with tons of great traveling tips!! Their family loves basketball, college football, and tailgating! Definitely check her out for beach tips, tailgating/party recipes, and all types of travel.
There are some rules for being nominated, so here you go,
- Thank the blogger who nominated you in your blog post and link back to his/her blog.
- Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
- Nominate 11 new bloggers to receive the award and write them 11 questions.
- List these rules and display the sunshine blogger award logo in your post and on your blog.
Here are the answers to the questions from Jen. Some were pretty tough.
In terms of life as a blogger, what is the #1 thing that motivates you?
My motivation comes from my family, and I’ve always been one to share things I love with others. With the blog, I am motivated to inspire others to make time for creating memories in unique ways. And that’s it’s possible to make lasting memories through simple things.
Where is your home town? And what is the coolest thing to do in your home town?
We are technically not in a city, so we like to call all the surrounding small towns our hometown. I don’t know about “coolest” thing to do, but we enjoy to walking around town, eating at local cafes, going out to local events, or just hanging out at the local brewery.
If you could travel anywhere in the world for two weeks, no strings attached, where would it be and who would you take with you?
I would travel to Poland and Austria because this is where my family is from. I would take my husband and our three girls, so we could all experience it together.
And could you spend those two weeks without WiFi?
I could most definitely spend those two weeks without WiFi.
Favorite Thanksgiving dish? ( I always need ideas!)
I am a sucker for good stuffing at Thanksgiving.
Let’s talk about famous people, past or present, who would you love to invite to dinner?
I would love to have dinner with Robin Williams. I’ve enjoyed him, and his work, since he was on Mork and Mindy. His silly sense of humor would have me laughing all through dinner.
What is your favorite blogging resource or course?
My favorite blogging resources have been Pete & Heather’s courses. Pete & Heather are bloggers from It’s A Lovely Life, and they are passionate about helping others make their blog profitable. They offer several different online courses, such as Travel Blogging Fast Track, which is the one I have taken. The TBFT, also included their WordPress Fast Launch, which was lots of help.
Do you think that there will ever be an official Degree in Blogging? And would you go for it? (I would!)
It would not surprise me if they start to offer degrees for blogging. I’ve always said I would never go back to school, so it would depend on how knowledgeable I am about blogging at the time. If I still felt like there was tons for me to learn, I possibly would.
What blogger has helped you the most, whether it be with resources, constructive criticism, traffic or just old fashioned advice?
Again, I have gained the most from Pete & Heather, from It’s A Lovely Life. Along with their courses and resources, they also run monthly blog traffic challenges where you can get hooked up with other bloggers in your niches, and develop relationships. With the Travel Blogging Fast Track, we have a Facebook VIP sharing group, and I have met some wonderful, supportive bloggers in this group as well. Members of these groups are great at answering questions. This is their FREE Facebook group for support from thousands of bloggers.
Palm trees, snow or city?
For everyday life, I am all about the warm. I would much rather be sweaty hot, than freezing cold. I suppose choosing to move from Michigan to Florida would give that away. I also prefer to be away from the big city, but don’t mind visiting them.
Coffee or tea?
Oddly enough, I love the smell of coffee, but don’t like the taste. I am a tea person, and I love all different kinds. Some of my favorites are chai tea lattes and peppermint tea.
I would like to nominate the following bloggers for the Sunshine Blogger Award!
Jennifer from Love Dwells Here
Trisha from Perhaps This Is
Tricia from Born To Be Boomers
Karen from KMF Is Writing
Janet from Life Through The Lens
Amanda from No Home Nomadder
Michele from Endless Family Travels
Kristi from Way Beyond The Norm
Kristin from Just Get In The Car
Missy from Forever Sabbatical
Lisa from Planning Away
These are my questions for you. I look forward to learning more about each of you.
- If you could go back to the beginning of starting your blog, what would you change? And why?
- Are you a morning person, or an evening person?
- What is your favorite part of the blogging process?
- Of all the vacations you have taken, which has been your favorite? And why?
- What is a pet peeve that drives you nuts?
- We all have causes which are dear to us, what is yours?
- Who do you most admire in your life right now?
- Which destination is top on your bucket list?
- Beach or lake?
- Before starting your blog, what was your previous job?
- What is your favorite kind of music to listen to on a road trip?
Ok, that was pretty tough to come up with some thought provoking questions. I have had so much fun getting to know so many new people on this blogging journey, and I can’t wait to see where it takes all of us.
